Life, Death, and Subjectivity: Moral Sources in Bioethics
This book presents an exploration of concepts central to health care practice. In exploring such concepts as Subjectivity, Life, Personhood, and Death in deep philosophical terms, the book aims to draw out the ethical demands that arise when we encounter these phenomena, and also the moral resources of health care workers for meeting those demands.
Values in Bioethics (ViB) makes available original philosophical books in all areas of bioethics, including medical and nursing ethics, health care ethics, research ethics, environmental ethics, and global bioethics.

Complex issues are presented in a clear and easy-to-digest way that encourages LPN students to think critically while learning real world nursing care. The new third edition now packs a powerful virtual punch-providing a student CD-ROM. An accompanying workbook is also available that includes a robust activity pack to help build strong study habits in a fun and visual way. A comprehensive and groundbreaking work, "Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 3rd edition" sets the new standard for a core med/surg textbook.

Clinical Care Classification (CCC) System Manual: A Guide to Nursing Documentation
Nursing is a crucial component of our healthcare system, and yet, unlike the services provided by doctors, the care given to patients by our nurses remains largely undocumented in a measurable format. Because of the lack of available data, nursing is rarely considered by the government when changes are made to our healthcare system, and as a consequence nursing continues to suffer the most severe budget cuts and lack of support. All of which greatly affect the care patients receive and damages our overall healthcare system. To address this oversight and counter the growing frustration in the nursing community, Virginia Saba created a PMRI compatible coding system that fully documents the specifics and impact of nursing in a singular terminology. The Clinical Care Classification (CCC) system can be used regardless of health care setting and covers Nursing Diagnoses and Outcomes as well as Nursing Interventions and Action Types. This manual brings together the CCC terminology that was previously only available on Dr. Saba’s website with background on its development and instructions on how best to code and apply the terminology. The CCC is the only system of its kind devoted to streamlining and classifying nursing and its impact in medicine. It is already changing the way nursing is viewed in the medical community and with this manual it is another step closer to bringing nurses the recognition they deserve as integral members of patient care.

Complementary/Alternative Therapies in Nursing
As the consumer demand for and use of complementary therapies continues to increase, it is critical to have knowledge about complementary therapies for professional nursing practice: to provide your patients with information about therapies, to be informed about research and practice guidelines related to complementary therapies, to alert your patients to possible contraindications with traditional medicines, and to incorporate some of these therapies into your own self-care.
Now in its fifth edition, Complementary/Alternative Therapies in Nursing continues to provide the scientific basis for the use of therapies with an emphasis on evidence-based practice. A new chapter dedicated solely to research has been added to this edition, and the studies related to each therapy continue to be included in each chapter.
A uniform format used throughout the book gives easy access to information about each therapy. Each chapter contains:
* A description of the therapy
* Scientific basis for use of the therapy
* Inclusion of one or two techniques that can be used to implement the therapy
* Conditions and patient populations in which the therapy has been used
* Suggestions for research
Precautions to be aware of when using a therapy are noted in the intervention section.
